Sally uses Google for searching, but she doesn't yet have a Gmail account. So she starts by creating a Gmail account: keenebookclub@gmail.com. (If you already have a Gmail account you can skip this step.)
She logs into that account and starts the calendar program by clicking the Calendar link at the top of the Gmail page.
Under My calendars Sally clicks the Create link, and creates a calendar for the book club:
She clicks the Make this calendar public box because this is a public calendar, and she wants to share the information.
Now, under My calendars, she clicks the down arrow next to Keene Book Club to open the menu of actions:
Sally clicks Create event on this calendar and creates a recurring event for the regular Thursday meeting.
She includes the club's website by adding url=http://keenebookclub.org to the description. That link will appear in the sentinelsource.com listing, and anyone who wants to know more about the club, or the weekly meeting, can click through to find out.
She follows the same procedure to add a series of irregularly-scheduled guest lectures.
Under My calendars, she again clicks the down arrow next to Keene Book Club to open its menu. This time she clicks Calendar settings, and scrolls down to the Calendar Address section:
To display the calendar on the club website, she clicks the blue HTML button and follows the instructions there.
To connect the calendar to sentinelsource.com, she clicks the green ICAL button which opens this dialog box:
She selects the URL displayed there, copies it, switches to the ExampleNewspaper.com submission page, and pastes the URL:
